MARATHE ENGINEERING

The MARATHE ENGINEERING INDUSTRIES (MEI) Established in 1965 and has been in business for over 59 years and serving large & small scale industries nationally and internationally. MEhonors the principles behind generations of success pursued with a steady eye on the future.

FIN TUBES:

Fin Tubes, also known as Finned Tubes or Finned Pipes, are a type of Heat Exchanger Tube used to increase the surface area for heat transfer.

Fin Tubes have a series of fins or protrusions on the outside surface, which increase the tubes surface area, allowing for more efficient heat transfer. They are often used in applications where a high heat transfer rate is required.

The benefits of Fin Tubes include:

  1. Enhanced heat transfer rates.
  2. Increased efficiency.
  3. Compact design.
  4. Cost-effective.
  5. Suitable for high pressure applications.

    The Applications:

  1. HVAC: Air conditioning, & refrigeration.
  2. Chemical processing: Heat exchangers, Condensers, & evaporators.
  3. Oil and gas: Oil coolers, gas processing, & refineries.
  4. Power generation: Steam generators, & heat exchangers.
  5. Aerospace: Heat exchangers, & fuel systems.
  6. Automotive: Radiators, oil coolers, & heat exchangers.
  7. Heat Recovery Systems.

In addition, helical crimped Fin Tubes are used in various other industries, such as:

  1. Food Processing.
  2. Pharmaceuticals.
  3. Marine.
  4. Industrial Processes.
  5. Chemical.
  6. Sugar.
  7. Paper.
  8. Fertilizer.

They are made from various materials, including:

  1. Copper.
  2. Mild Steel.
  3. Stainless Steel.
  4. Galvanise.

Helical crimped Fin Tubes are a type of Fin Tube where the Fins are helically (spiral) wrapped around the        tube and then crimped to secured them in pace. This design provides :

  1. High heat transfer efficiency.
  2. Mechanical strength.
  3. Resistance to vibration and thermal stress.

Characteristics of helical crimped Fin Tubes:

  1. Fin pitch: The distance between adjacent fins.
  2. Fin height: The height of the fins above the tube surface.
  3. Crimping: The process of securing the fins to the tube.
  4. Tube material: Typically copper, stainless steel, mild Steel, & carbon steel.
  5. Fin material: Typically the same as the tube material or of combination of MS/GI/SS/Copper.

Lets dive deeper into the manufacturing process and specifications of helical crimped Fin Tubes:

     Manufacturing Process:

  1. Tube production: The base tube is produced through extrusion, welding, or drawing.
  2. Fin production: The fins are produced through extrusion, rolling, or stamping.
  3. Fin wrapping: The fins are helically wrapped around the tube using a finning machine.
  4. Crimping: The fins are crimped onto the tube using a crimping machine.
  5. Inspection: The Fin Tubes are inspected for quality and accuracy.

FIN COILS: (Only Fins)

We manufacture “Continuous Spiral Fins” (without tube) i.e. Finned Coils, especially for odd shaped prefabricated tubes. These are widely used for Industrial Electric Finned Air Heaters and Air Compressors Cooling Tubes. Heat Transfer Efficiency increases substantially because of continuous crimped fin design. These MEI Brand Finned Coils are made according to OD of the tube with fractional differences ranging from 8 mm to 65 mm.
